Tanner/Erie I thik thje auther wants readers to uderstand when he tells about Tommy drawing on the sheets is that he doesn't know how much work his parents have to do to get it out. He really wants to be an Artist when he grows up for sure.
I THINK THE AUTHOR WANT'S TO TELL US THAT WE SHOULDN'T DRAW ON THE SHEETS. I THINK IT'S NOT GOOD TO DRAW ON THE SHEETS BECAUSE THE PARENTS WILL HAVE TO BUY NEW SHEETS.
i think the author wants us to understand that tommy is so glad with drawing that we should like art too. also,he wants us to understand that we should find a hobby and like it like tommy did.

Sarah The arthour wants the readers to under stand that Tommy wants to be a artist and he loves to draw. The arthour also wants the readers to not draw on your sheets because it can mess it up and it is hard to get out.
